WMC Onam Celebrations
World Malayalee Council UP Province celebrated the ONAM Festival at Kribhco Auditorium Sector -1 Noida on 4th Sept 2010. The event was a grand success and very well recieved by the people who atteded the event. The event started of with ChendaMelam an ethnic Kerala Drum performance to welcome the Chief Guest and other guests. The notable dignitaries who attended the festival were
1. Lt Gen Satheesh Nambiar (PVSM, AVSM, VrC and Padmabhushan) - Chief Guest
2. Shri V.C Praveen - Global President W.M.C - Guest of Honor
3. Shri George Kulangara - Chairman W.M.C India Region - Guest of Honor
4. Shri Alexander Daniel - IPS Addl DG B.S.F - Guest of Honor
5. Shri K. Madhavan Nair - Chairman Delhi College of Arts and Commerrce.
The Welcome Ceremony was then followed by Welcome address by Shri K.K. Thomas Chairman WMC UP Province, Presidential Address by Brig(Dr.) C. Jacob President W.M.C UP Province , and Committee Report by Shri R.V Thyagarajan General Secretary W.M.C UP Province. Then the Chief guest Lt Satheesh Nambiar and other guests discussed the various issues pertaining to Pravasi Malayalees in world today.
In keeping in tradition with honoring excellence WMC UP Province felicitated three teachers from Noida , appreciating their excellence and commitment in the area of their work. The teachers who were felicitated were :
1. Chotte Lal Chauhan - Govt Primary School Teacher, Sector-12
2. Khoob Chand Singh - Principal Govt Primary School Teacher Sector-12
3. Anjina Rajagopal - Executive Director Sai Kripa.
Noted philanthropist Shri KK Thomas and WMC UP Province also donated "Onam Kodi" to Sai Kripa in keeping with its motto of helping the poor and needy. After the vote of thanks by Shri Rajan Varghese Secretary WMC UP Province , Students of Thyagaraja Center For Music and Dance Noida presented a wonderful Culturual Program which enraptured and enthralled the audience.

The Cultural Program was followed by Orchestra Program by Melody Kings - Shalimar Bagh Delhi and Mimics Parade by Mr Jose and Party.
Overall the event was a highly memorable one and guests enjoyed the evening and cherished every moment of it.
